As a pivotal member of the Research & Scientific Affairs team within the Office of Science and Technology, you will be responsible for fostering and maintaining robust scientific partnerships. Collaborate with external researchers, key opinion leaders, and healthcare leadership through innovative research and applied science to enhance patient care.

Oversee cross-modality research and scientific partnerships within your designated region or sector, ensuring compliance and effective scientific engagement. This role focuses on major academic institutions and large healthcare systems in Boston. Engage with GE HealthCare’s broad product lines, including radiology, advanced digital & AI solutions, and patient monitoring/solutions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between product engineering, R&D teams, marketing & commercial teams, and external healthcare researchers to achieve scientific objectives.
  • Own scientific engagement strategy, implementation, and success at a regional level.
  • Conduct presentations to communicate GEHC’s scientific objectives and collaboration opportunities.
  • Identify partners and projects that align with GEHC’s scientific strategies and engage appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage research payment milestone tracking to ensure compliance with reporting responsibilities.
  • Work with research and innovation leaders to establish partnership structures, agreements, and metrics.
  • Maintain engagement consistency with key opinion leaders and manage executive-level research interactions.
  • Coordinate with regional teams for compliant information exchange and connect researchers with GEHC product teams.
  • Drive clinical acceptance of new technologies by forming key opinion leader consortiums.
  • Communicate market intelligence and trends to influence GEHC’s product and innovation strategies.
  • Manage advisory boards and external stakeholder engagement mechanisms.
  • Participate in industry activities to represent GEHC.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market healthcare trends, a proven track record of impactful program development, and a background in medical/scientific affairs or research collaboration management. Industry experience in radiology, patient monitoring, or radiation therapy is preferred.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a technical or healthcare administration discipline.
  • Substantial experience (7+ years) in the medical technology or device industry.
  • Knowledge of research standards, laws, and regulations, and the separation of commercial and non-commercial activities.
  • Understanding of US healthcare systems and clinical practices.

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MD) in a technical discipline.
  • Experience in a senior role responsible for research or external partnerships and project management.
  • Familiarity with GEHC products, research partners, and customers.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage C-level leaders and researchers.
  • Knowledge of institutional research practices involving human subjects.
  • Ability to critique and redirect research designs effectively.
