The Team

As a part of the Disco squad, your team consists of four members and operates on-site every Tuesday. This squad is crucial for managing and updating batch processes within the department. You'll collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver top-notch solutions for the collections tribe. Additionally, you'll optimize queries and create reports and dashboards to present data to the business in a structured way.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll contribute to the maintenance of the Data Warehouse Collections in an Oracle/IBM platform environment, including Oracle Exadata, DataStage, and Cognos. Your key duties will include:

  • Designing and maintaining the data warehouse (Datamart collections)
  • Resolving incidents in batch processes
  • Performance tuning of Oracle SQL
  • Continuous Delivery and Deployment in Azure DevOps
  • Creating reports and dashboards in Cognos
  • Converting complex business requirements into IT solutions
  • Making solutions scalable and future-fit
  • Sharing knowledge and training less experienced colleagues

Who Are You?

You are a skilled and experienced Data Engineer. You are strong substatively, results-oriented, and understand the needs of your IT customers. You are also a true team player, adept at quickly adapting in a complex environment. Coaching colleagues and providing constructive feedback are second nature to you.

Must-Haves

  • At least a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in a complex IT environment
  • Expertise in SQL and DevOps skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle 19 (DWH features on Exadata, IBM DataStage, ETL), UAC Scheduling Tools, GIT, and Azure DevOps
  • Experience translating complex business requirements to IT solutions
  • Positive mindset
  • Strong teamwork, flexibility, and versatility
  • Structured working style with good coaching skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with IBM Analytics (Cognos)
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with IBM IGC Metadata Repository
  • Knowledge of Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Python, R, Hive, and Impala
  • Experience with IT Risk Management in a bank setting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI
