Job Title: Senior Signal Processing/AI/ML Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Signal Processing/AI/ML Engineer to join our High Performance Analog Systems and Research Group. This role entails the development of innovative embedded machine learning applications for power management, such as Qorvo's intelligent battery management systems and intelligent motor control systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the definition and development of embedded ML algorithms for power management applications.
  • Contribute to data collection, model training, model testing, and deployment of embedded ML algorithms.
  • Assist in the development of custom software and hardware to support ML applications.
  • Collaborate with business units on deployment and roadmaps aligning with corporate strategies.
  • Coordinate with research and engineering teams on ML tools and workflows.
  • Provide support and ML training for engineering and applications teams.
  • Ensure security and compliance with relevant corporate standards and regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in an ML development role, preferably in battery management or motor control applications.
  • Knowledge of commercial and open-source ML packages and AutoML tools.
  • Experience with embedded ML models like SVN, CNN, DNN, kNN, K-means, decision trees, random forests, and ensemble methods.
  • Familiar with ML data flows, pipelines, and MLOps development cycles.
  • Experience with signal processing algorithms and implementation.
  • Understanding of microprocessor and microcontroller systems.
  • Experience with battery management systems, fuel gauging techniques, and motor control systems.
  • Proficiency in C, Python, and Matlab.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, languages, and development environments.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of digital and analog signal processing techniques.
  • Experience with fault and anomaly detection, predictive and prescriptive maintenance.
  • Experience in developing commercial ML applications, especially in battery-powered devices.
  • Experience developing embedded software for ARM Cortex M class microprocessors.
  • Semiconductor or electronics industry experience, particularly in battery management or motor control.
