Power BI Developer (Permanent)

Location: London
Position Type: Full-time, 5 days a week
Working Model: Hybrid, with travel required throughout mainland Europe

Role Overview

Join our international data analytics team as a Power BI Developer. This role focuses on developing our reporting offerings across our offices. We're seeking an experienced professional, ideally from the insurance industry, who can work proactively with key business stakeholders to develop reports from various data sources that meet the business's needs.

This position is essential for providing the underwriting, claims, operations, data, bordereaux, and IT teams with the insight they need to drive the business forward. The candidate will also collaborate closely with DUAL UK, Howden Group IT, and various IT project teams. The successful candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced, agile, and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement reports in Power BI
  • Provide user-friendly reports and dashboards and continuously improve them
  • Collaborate proactively with the team of international data analysts
  • Conduct error analysis and testing of data consistency and quality, along with corresponding documentation
  • Serve as the contact person for user support (Operation requests)

Key Requirements

  • Expert knowledge in Power BI and Power BI Stack
  • Highly skilled in report and dashboard development
  • Strong SQL skills (data extraction and enrichment using advanced functions)
  • Knowledge of ETL using various data sources
  • Ability to interrogate, manipulate, cleanse, and transform data
  • Experience working in an agile manner using Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of Insurance or Reinsurance
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, specifically Industries and Financial Force (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and methodically
  • Strong team player with confidence in their ability
  • Excellent presentation skills and strategic thinking abilities
  • Proactively share best practices across the organization
  • Actively listen to colleagues and business leaders to derive new requirements
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities
