Job Overview

As a Data Scientist at EXPANSIA, you will be pivotal in analyzing and processing our complex data. By identifying critical features for various predictive outcomes such as delivery predictions, you will leverage advanced machine learning models and techniques. Your role involves:

• Developing and implementing machine learning models.
• Preprocessing and normalizing data for optimal model performance.
• Training and testing models using various robust metrics and methods.
• Visualizing and interpreting results to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Creating endpoints for integration with our existing systems and exploring advanced options like optical character recognition.

The role offers a competitive salary ranging from $82,500 to $131,280, dependent on numerous factors such as government contract requirements, experience, and skills.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

• Analyze unstructured and semi-structured data using advanced data analysis algorithms.
• Handle high-volume and high-velocity data streams and index requests.
• Apply creative strategies to support high-value use cases visualized through multi-dimensional interfaces.

Key Qualifications

• Eligible to obtain a Secret Level Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience can substitute for education where applicable.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in software development and data analysis tools like Hadoop, Mahout, Hive, and Pig.
• Skilled in visual and textual data processing technologies such as Microsoft Pivot, Palantir, Lucene, or Solr.
• Experience with machine learning and complex data clustering.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Experience with OCR tools like Tesseract.
• Proficiency in Python, particularly Flask, and managing AWS resources.
• Ability to adapt quickly and contribute to multiple facets of a project.
