The context:

Throughout the developing world, school attendance is higher than ever, yet the level of learning is not increasing. A recent study showed that fewer than 1% of students in Sub-Saharan Africa go to a school that offers quality teaching. However, at Rising Academies, we're working to change that, and we need your help. Our aim is to establish the best schools and develop the most effective teaching and learning tools for those who need them most. We are one of the fastest-growing education companies in Africa, focusing on quality and we are a Certified B Corp®.

About us:

We both own and manage low-cost private schools, collaborate with governments to enhance the quality of public education, and utilize our content and technology to assist other educational providers. Established in Sierra Leone in 2014, we offered emergency education to children unable to attend school due to the Ebola crisis before launching our first school in April 2015. Currently, we support over 250,000 students across more than 900 schools in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, and now Rwanda.

Through comprehensive curriculum, extensive teacher training and actionable data, we assist teachers and school leaders in bringing quality to every classroom. The impact is evident: reveal our students make over twice the progress compared to their peers in similar schools.

We have recently finalized our and successfully obtained a multi-year, multi-million dollar grant to foster the creation of our digital ed-tech solutions for low-income students internationally. Our 'Bambai' range of digital tools currently comprises a school information system, school observation tool, chatbot tutor (Rori), accelerated learning program and teacher coaching app. We aim to further develop our range of digital products to enhance education quality for millions of students globally. If you're passionate about making a difference for teachers, students and parents, we're the right place for you.
