Join Our Innovating Team as an Electro-Optical Research Scientist

We're on the hunt for a talented Research Scientist to enhance our Emerging Technologies team, focusing on groundbreaking optical sensor research.

Your Role

As an Electro-Optical Research Scientist, you will:

• Lead the creation of new concepts and architectures for optical sensor systems, including simulation, prototyping, and field testing.
• Utilize advanced software like COMSOL, ZEMAX, and Matlab/Simulink along with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and tools like LabVIEW to develop new technologies.
• Engage with both government and private sector stakeholders to align development with customer requirements.
• Conduct technical writing for bids, proposals, and system documentation.

What You'll Need

We are looking for candidates with:

• A PhD in Photonics, Applied Physics, Optical Engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2+ years of experience in optical system design and remote sensing applications, including post-doctoral studies.
• Strong abilities in laser propagation theory, spectroscopy, and atmospheric measurements.
• Proven capability to design experiments, analyze results, and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Exceptional skills in technical writing and verbal communication.

Nice to Have

• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• Experience with AI/ML algorithms, project management, and laser safety standards.
• Knowledge of RF and fiber optic systems, meta materials, and MWIR/LWIR sensing technologies.
