About the Role

As an EMEA Data Governance Lead within the AWM Data Governance Chief Data Office (CDO) team, you will play a critical role in enhancing AWM's ability to identify, manage, and measure regional data risk. You will influence risk mitigation strategies and drive key priorities. Additionally, you will develop and implement solutions that align with AWM's commercial objectives by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to create new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive adherence to Firmwide Data Risk Management policies, standards, controls, and operational practices.
  • Provide leadership and recommendations to enhance the overall Data Governance structure across the firm.
  • Investigate and resolve breaches of data governance and risk policies.
  • Manage data risks through an oversight and escalation framework.
  • Collaborate with Controls, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Legal, Product Owners, Application & Information Owners, and Technology partners to sustain a mature AWM Data Governance framework.
  • Work with EMEA Privacy Champions to oversee data protection governance, including data classification, need-to-know principles, and Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA).
  • Represent JPM EMEA entities in the AWM Data Use Council, conducting due diligence on data use cases and ensuring adherence to Privacy practices such as GDPR.
  • Provide ideas for improving business processes to achieve system and process enhancements.
  • Support large-scale, multi-year program deliverables related to specific workstreams and help build robust program management skills.
  • Ensure data risk management activities align with AWM's risk appetite.
  • Participate in Firmwide and AWM Governance forums, lead meetings, and drive actions to address requirements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Seasoned experience with a strong understanding of control and risk management concepts.
  • Expertise in Data Governance.
  • Experience implementing firmwide policies and standards.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience coordinating across diverse functional teams.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present concise and timely communications to management.
  • Adaptability to work in an evolving environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Creativity in identifying solutions for complex processes and issues.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • In-depth experience with data architecture, including database design techniques, modeling tools, and principles.
  • Certification in Data Technology, Agile, or other project management/Business Analysis applications.
