Job Description

Sia Partners is recruiting an end-of-studies intern as a Data Engineer to support the development of the Data Science Business Unit's activities.

You will be involved in Sia Partners' Data Science assignments for our clients, as well as the development of our Heka.ai Software-as-a-Service products. You will support Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and DevOps Engineers in high component data projects, with the aim of addressing technical challenges around data storage, flow, and processing. You will actively contribute to the technological, architectural, and governance choices to meet the challenges of scaling data projects.

The work will cover the following themes:

• Data pipelines: development of ETL scripts in Big Data ecosystems
• Machine Learning Infrastructures & Services: technological vigilance and implementation of solutions useful to Data Scientists in training and provision of their Machine Learning models
• Python programming: development of server-side executed tools (mass data processing, data exposure via APIs, ...)
• Cloud Services: choice of architecture, use of storage and computing services

Qualifications

You are soon to graduate from an Engineering School or have completed a high-level training in Information Technology, ideally with some first-hand experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud, or Software Engineering.

• You have a good level of Python, allowing you to qualify, enrich, and process data.
  • It is a plus if you master another programming language
• You master relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQLServer, …)
  • It is a plus if you master a different database paradigm (Wide-column, Key-value, …)
• You have experience with distributed computing tools, such as Hadoop or Spark or you have experience with Machine Learning tools, such as Tensorflow or Torch
• It is a plus if you have experience with services from at least one Cloud services platform (GCP, AWS, Azure)
