Job Description

We are looking for a talented Remote Sensing Data Engineer to join our geoSystem team. Your role will focus on developing and productizing algorithms and tools for geospatial data management. You will work in close collaboration with our team on various activities, including:

  • Contributing to the development and testing of software for satellite systems.
  • Assessing and understanding algorithms for processing satellite data, including characterizing geometric and radiometric errors.
  • Implementing software for processing optical satellite data.
  • Evaluating and implementing satellite instruments calibration methods.
  • Supporting verification and validation campaigns for multi-satellite Ground Segment software.

You will also be challenged to:

  • Explore new technologies and algorithms for geospatial data handling.
  • Learn and apply techniques for data collation and cleaning from various entities and providers.
  • Help achieve key product development milestones with the geoSystem team.
  • Benchmark the performance of data processing algorithms.
  • Employ statistical and modeling procedures for cross-validating data processing models.
  • Contribute to the production of technical papers.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Master's degree in Geospatial, Physics, Aerospace or Environmental Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python and associated AI/ML libraries.
  • Knowledge of unsupervised, supervised, semi-supervised, and transfer-learning techniques.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities.
  • A solid understanding of algorithms for geospatial data.
  • The ability to develop robust numerical tools for handling geospatial data.
  • While no prior work experience is required, knowledge of geospatial data and programming languages is expected.
  • Strong capabilities for learning and applying new technologies innovatively and creatively.
  • High motivation to work in a dynamic team environment with data scientists and engineers.
  • The ability to foster a healthy and stimulating work environment that encourages teamwork.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Solid communication skills.
