Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies Division (HII-MT), is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for developing real-time software in hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) electronic warfare test systems. Your responsibilities will extend to learning DSP, modeling and simulation, and advanced radar techniques. This role hosts significant growth opportunities limited only by your willingness and ability to learn.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
• Engage in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with hardware engineers in the design and development of electronic data processing systems.
• Analyze system capabilities, resolve program intent, and develop operating instructions and utility programs.
• Ensure compliance with software standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 7 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD; or High School Diploma with 13 years of relevant experience.
• A minimum Secret clearance is required to start, with an ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with enhanced security checks.
• Experience in C/C++ programming and embedded systems.
• Proficiency in real-time software development and scripting languages like Python.
• Ability to work independently or with a large, multi-discipline team.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Desire and ability to learn new skills.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with Linux in an embedded environment and bare-metal systems.
• Experience with SoC devices, digital signal processing, Matlab/Simulink, and Labview.
• Familiarity with lab equipment including oscilloscopes and power supplies.
• Experience with radar and/or RF systems.

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity are necessary for meeting the requirements of the Software Engineer position.
