Job Opportunity: Engineering Vice President in Data Governance at Goldman Sachs, Salt Lake City

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, your primary responsibilities include software design and development. This entails programming roles such as business software engineers, platform engineers, and quality assurance engineers. You will combine the best open-source software, databases, cloud solutions, and programming languages to solve problems and develop scalable applications that offer valuable insights to our business and clients.

Engineers at Goldman Sachs are catalysts for change by utilizing their technical expertise. You will be part of embedded engineering teams collaborating closely with business partners across trading, sales, asset management, banking, finance, and more. Your role may also involve core engineering teams, focusing on providing scalable platforms for data engineering, machine learning, networking, developer tools, and collaboration.

Work innovatively with UI/UX designers, data scientists, cloud engineers, and more in an agile environment where your enthusiasm for tackling new challenges will have an immediate impact.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Strong skills in object-oriented or functional analysis and design.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance-oriented design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders, and global teamwork.
  • Entrepreneurial approach and passion for problem-solving and product development.
  • 6+ years of software development experience.

Expertise In

  • Compilation languages such as Java or C++ and interpreted languages like Python, along with experience in concurrency and memory management.
  • Responsive web development, professional experience with React, Angular, or Redux, and advanced JavaScript proficiency.
  • NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and ElasticSearch.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge or interest in trading technologies for a front-office trading organization.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related fields.
