In Zurich, our XR Tech team focuses on pioneering machine perception technologies, from initial concepts to final product stages. This includes involvement in AR/VR products and apps such as Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. We’re developing new capabilities for real-world applications in mixed reality, digital fashion, world-scale mapping, and more.

Role Overview: Engineering Manager, Computer Vision

As an Engineering Manager based in Zurich, you will lead a dynamic team of scientists and engineers, managing sophisticated systems that utilize Computer Vision and Machine Learning technologies. Your role will involve strategic planning and hands-on management across various stages of product development, ensuring the integration of state-of-the-art technologies across Meta's platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and integration of system requirements alongside teams to support new product architectures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to advance our product pipeline across hardware, software, and applications.
• Promote engineering excellence, set clear team expectations, and drive continuous improvement.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead top-tier technical talent, fostering an innovative team environment.
• Coordinate product development across internal teams and with external partners and suppliers.

Who You Are

Ideal candidates should bring a robust technical background in engineering or computer science, complemented by experience in leading teams in high-tech, product-focused environments. You should have a proven track record of managing and recruiting technical teams, particularly those specializing in Computer Vision or AI/Machine Learning.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related experience.
• Solid experience in people management and team leadership across global multi-disciplinary tech environments.
• Demonstrated ability in spearheading engineering and research teams through technical leadership.
• Comprehensive experience managing teams from the conception to commercialization of Computer Vision or AI technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Vision, AI, or Machine Learning.
• Experience with joint hardware-software development projects and rapid prototyping.
• Leadership in teams interfacing with hardware teams on setting product requirements and trade-offs.
