As the leader of our Data Science team, you'll oversee the creation and implementation of innovative ML models. Passionate about applying research to real-world problems, you'll thrive in an environment focused on doing things faster and better.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the mission, execution, morale, and product quality of your team.
• Partner with product managers to maintain and execute against the product roadmap, leveraging your team's competencies.
• Remove roadblocks, identify and implement process improvements, and delegate effectively to enhance team productivity.
• Actively contribute to building community and culture within the engineering organization.
• Continuously research and implement management best practices, providing frequent, actionable feedback to team members.
• Ensure the team is appropriately staffed to meet product roadmap goals.
• Drive the innovation and evolution of ZipRecruiter.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, with experience developing applications at scale (NLP experience is a plus).
• 3+ years of experience managing a data science or ML engineering team.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in accessing and processing large datasets using big data technologies.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software while leading teams of 3 to 10 engineers.
• Ability to lead through influence and collaboration rather than authority.
• Capable of making key decisions in a timely manner, considering the needs and inputs of multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a bias toward action and follow-through.
