Role Overview

About the Data Science Team

Our Data Science team aims to model the European real estate market through scientific approaches and pioneering products. Comprising 40 professionals, including Ph.D. scholars in mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, Machine Learning, and Data Engineering, we push the boundaries of innovation.

Geo Engineering Team

The Geo Engineering team consists of experts in geoinformatics, data extraction and analysis, database management, and system architecture. We work in close collaboration with French research laboratories and a scientific advisory council, including renowned academics specializing in housing, economics, mathematics, and urban geography.

Core Responsibilities

• Integrate and consolidate top-tier geographical data sources into specialized data models for R&D projects.
• Develop and maintain high-availability, high-volume APIs and UIs for geographical querying, geocoding, mapping, and routing.
• Ensure the seamless functioning and evolution of our real estate platforms.
• Support the Data Science team with a stable R&D environment.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

We seek a Backend Engineering Manager who can:

• Identify and resolve blocking points, propose solutions, and ensure project execution.
• Mentor and guide talented engineers (2 to 4).
• Contribute to modern Cloud infrastructure.
• Model and develop robust data pipelines.
• Implement APIs, Webapps, and data delivery systems.
• Show expertise in Python, SQL, and Cloud providers.
• Embody values of collaboration, kindness, and excellence.
• Exhibit resilience, pragmatism, and an interest in Geographic Information Systems.

Technical Stack

• AWS
• Python, Docker, Airflow (MWAA), PostgresQL (RDS Aurora), OpenSearch, Fargate
• Github, Terraform, CircleCI, Datadog
• Postgis, GDAL, QGIS
• React, Mapbox GL JS

Sample Projects

• Industrialize a computational pipeline for building typology in Europe.
• Develop and enhance an address suggestion and validation API for high-traffic sites.
• Create a geographic database for a European country, accessible via a dynamic mapping application.
• Revamp the monitoring and alerting system for numerous production data pipelines.
• Develop and optimize a high-volume routing engine.
