Job Description

As a respected member of our team, you will participate in the creation of data infrastructure and pipelines for collecting, integrating, organizing, centralizing, and ensuring accessibility and usability of data. This includes quality assurance.

YOUR IMPACT
As a Senior Associate in our Enterprise Data - Data Engineering team, you will be afforded the autonomy to shape your workday, working alongside supportive colleagues. You will have the following responsibilities:

Fannie Mae is looking for a Senior Associate Data Engineer in Reston, VA

  • Develop data infrastructure and pipelines to capture, integrate, organize, centralize and ensure data is readily accessible and in a usable state. This includes quality assurance.
  • Understand customer requirements and the intended use of requested data when developing Controls Automation and Support.
  • Master and maintain knowledge of database technologies, complex programming languages, and computer system skills.
  • Foster the integration of data into accessible formats while preserving existing structures and governing their use according to business needs.
  • Analyze new data sources and monitor data performance, scalability, and security.
  • Participate in product development, including design, roadmaps, translating requirements, prototyping, etc.
  • Execute product testing, including software testing, usability testing, UAT, and utilizing relevant product testing technology.
  • Engage in governance and compliance tasks, including policy creation, compliance evaluation, conducting internal investigations, and developing data governance.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to less experienced teammates.

This is a hybrid position.

Qualifications

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Required:
Master's degree in Computer Science plus three years of experience in ETL design and development using Informatica, AWS (including EMR, GLUE, EC2, Lambda, Beanstalk, ECS, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, SQS, SNS, S3, Redshift), Python, , SQL, Jenkins, Rally, and JIRA. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also necessary.
