The Data Governance team at FTSE Russell is dedicated to ensuring the effective execution of the LSEG Data Governance policy through standardized tools, policies, and methodologies. This includes the development of metrics, corrective actions, and reporting mechanisms to communicate the impact and progress of initiatives.

Position: Data Quality Officer

The Data Quality Officer is a pivotal role, reporting directly to the Data Governance Director. You will be responsible for documenting, assessing, and enhancing data quality controls across FTSE Russell. This role involves proactive engagement with various teams to mitigate data risks and uphold quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure FTSE Russell's compliance with the LSEG Data Quality Standard by meticulously documenting and evaluating existing data quality controls.
  • Support the Data Governance Director in fostering a culture of data quality awareness and practices among Index Operations teams.
  • Collaborate with index operations teams to conduct data profiling, utilizing statistical methods to assess data quality, identify patterns, and recommend improvements.
  • Establish a linkage between data quality outcomes and process inputs to identify root causes and interdependencies.
  • Work closely with Index Operations to develop and implement measurement, reporting, and dashboarding solutions, utilizing various analytical and visualization techniques to deliver insightful metrics.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A BA/BS degree in a STEM field, data technology, or another quantitative discipline.
  • At least three years of professional experience in financial data management, with a preference for experience in indices or analytics.
  • Proficient in quantitative analysis, employing statistical methods to analyze diverse data sets.
  • Skilled in Python/R, SQL, or equivalent technologies for data manipulation, analysis, and exploratory data inquiry.
  • Experience in financial data management, ideally with indices, is highly valued.
  • Certifications in Data Management (e.g., CDMP, DCAM), Business Analysis (CBAP), or Process Optimization (Six Sigma) are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in developing key performance indicators and reports using PowerBI.
  • Demonstrates an inclusive communication style, effective collaboration skills, and a team-oriented approach.
