Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged to be at the forefront of our ESG Integration initiative. In this critical role, you will embed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data into our operating models, supporting investment decisions, risk assessments, policy development, and client reporting. The ever-growing volume of ESG data is vital across our business and requires integration into our monitoring, trading, order management, and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand the meaning and implications of new datasets.
• Analyze and explain existing datasets to internal users.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prototype metrics using Python for implementation by the ESG Data Engineering team.
• Develop simple, robust web apps for self-service data access and analytical tools.
• Create flexible visualizations for large datasets to provide data insights.
• Build sophisticated and user-friendly dashboards for external clients.
• Continuously improve data quality tests and resolve data issues.
• Standardize ESG metrics across the business by specifying and documenting methodologies.
• Work with ESG Product Owners to align features with LGIM’s product, business, and technology strategy.
• Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure smooth transitions into business-as-usual functions.

Qualifications

We're looking for individuals with:

• A strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability to produce high-quality data solutions and products.
• Experience analyzing large datasets, ideally using the Cloudera Data Platform.
• Proficiency in data modeling, error-handling, version control, and testing.
• SQL skills for database querying, load, update, and transformation.
• Substantial experience using Python with analytical libraries such as Pandas and building web apps using Flask.
• Experience with data visualization platforms, ideally Tableau.
• Exposure to Agile processes, preferably Kanban and Scrum.
• An interest and passion for Sustainable Investing and ESG topics, even if not critical.
