Our work involves examining the effects of policies on diverse groups including Black, Indigenous, people of color, immigrants, individuals with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community, to improve the lives of those with low or moderate incomes.

Internship Overview

The Data Analysis and Research Internship provides an opportunity to collaborate with skilled policy analysts on various issues affecting low-income families. Interns will engage in tasks such as data collection, preparation, analysis, and the development of presentations and graphics to summarize research findings. This role is essential in assessing legislative and policy developments and their impact on underprivileged communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets using statistical software like Stata or R.
  • Review, summarize, and interpret academic and policy research.
  • Develop written presentations and graphics to communicate research findings.
  • Work collaboratively with other CBPP divisions and support the State Priorities Partnership network.

Who Should Apply?

This internship is ideal for individuals with a background in public policy, statistics, data science, research methods, or economics/econometrics, particularly those who have completed coursework with quantitative focus. Compensation and Work Schedule

The internship is fully remote with options for hybrid work in the DC area. Compensation varies based on educational level, with hourly wages ranging from $17 to $22.
