We are currently seeking Field Autonomy Engineers to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for the hands-on deployment and operational support of new fleet rollouts. As a Field Autonomy Engineer (FAE), you will tackle challenges across the entire system spectrum, from hardware platforms to software autonomy stacks. This position requires up to 50% travel and provides a unique opportunity to act as our engineering team's on-site specialist for both new and existing fleet operations.
Main Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and develop the on-site configuration and deployment of autonomous technology in new locations.
• Scout locations to identify and resolve new technical challenges associated with specific traffic environments.
• Serve as a technical liaison to customers and the public, representing our groundbreaking technology.
• Conduct and coordinate autonomous technology demonstrations for potential customers.
• Work closely with engineers across the organization to enhance system capabilities and the rider experience.
• Continuously update and incorporate lessons learned from field deployments into organizational documentation to enhance knowledge and practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• A solid understanding of mobile robotics fundamentals.
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proven hands-on experience in hardware and software development related to autonomous technologies.
• Strong analytical skills, especially MECE methodology, for traffic analysis and system troubleshooting.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed (up to 50%).
• Ability to operate May Mobility vehicles; must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
• Advanced degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with mobile robotics or autonomous vehicles.
• Proficiency in operating within a Linux environment and coding in C, Python, or Bash.
• Salary Range: $62,500—$75,000 USD
