Job Description

We are currently in search of a Financial Analyst, Business Intelligence roles to support our team at Avery Dennison’s Global Corporate Headquarters located in Mentor, Ohio! In this team, you will involve in developing and managing intricate tools, in addition to providing reporting and analytical support to our North America Sales and Marketing organization as well as internal Finance (commercial finance and pricing). The main objective of the Financial Analyst, Business Intelligence roles is to support the Commercial Finance and Pricing departments to become more efficient and to make it simpler for the commercial organization to find valuable business insights. This position will employ technology and form partnerships with IT to translate our needs into the right tools. Additionally, this position will focus on streamlining crucial processes by emphasizing standardization, automation, and self-service for Finance and also our business associates in Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the end of the month closing process by aligning our profitability tool with our P&L, which requires an established financial acumen skill allowing you to translate our manufacturing procedures and financial models into a complex profitability tool
  • Oversee technology projects, gather client requirements and work in collaboration with IT to deliver the right solution for the team
  • Management of change, act as a champion for change by guiding teams towards using all our tools and highlighting all the advantages of BI; you are the expert of our tools and understand their full potential and can provide training to all our cross-functional teams.
  • Work in conjunction with internal team members to understand their needs and translate them into new dashboards/reports that generate valuable insights promptly,
  • Support our strategy on progressing the organization up the Business Intelligence learning curve into a self-service model.
  • Contribute to the automation and standardization of internal reports or business processes by identifying chances for improvement
  • Help with our Finance excellence processes such as Sales Incentive plans, Transfer price management, or Rebate controls
  • Establish and foster strong, cohesive working relationships between Finance and all our team members in IT and the Commercial organization

Qualifications

We are searching for candidates who are highly motivated and love working in a fast-paced collaborative environment. What we also expect from you:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is necessary, preferably in Finance or a related field
  • 1-3 years Finance, Business Intelligence, or related experience
  • Experience in Project Management, in teams and independently
  • Competence in proficiently using computers and relative software in carrying out financial job tasks, specifically setting up spreadsheet formulas, linking spreadsheets, extracting data, and validating new models compared to existing reports
  • Affinity to analytical systems and experience using Business Intelligence technology from a Financial perspective is key
  • Skills in articulating complex ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, and presenting to cross-functional teams. Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and capability to conduct research, prepare comprehensive and precise reports and present intricate financial and statistical information in a clear and succinct way.
  • Great team player with good communication and collaborative skills - experience in change management and training is essential for the role.
