Role and Responsibilities

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) at Scale AI, you will directly collaborate with industry-leading Generative AI companies, designing and managing robust, production-grade data integrations essential for advanced foundational models. Your deep technical expertise in our products, codebase, and web development and APIs will empower you to create the necessary tools and documentation for scalable growth.

Your daily tasks will include:

• Engineering scalable end-to-end data integrations that seamlessly synchronize customer data with Scale's Data Engine platform.
• Collaborating onsite (preferred) and virtually with customer teams, ensuring a seamless data pipeline.
• Documenting, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex customer data transformations and processing.
• Writing and debugging production code in multiple development environments, both for our customers and Scale’s codebases.
• Capturing, documenting, and championing new customer requirements and feature requests, ensuring their implementation.
• Understanding the AI strategy, goals, and needs of our customers deeply.
• Building strong relationships with technical stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Multitasking and rapidly learning new technologies as needed.

Qualifications

We seek candidates with a strong engineering background and relevant qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of post-graduation engineering experience, ideally in a client-facing role.
• Experience thriving in fast-paced environments with ambiguity.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Typescript, Node, React, Next.js, and MongoDB.
• Experience scaling products at hyper-growth startups (highly desirable).

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of software engineering best practices.
• Experience with AI platforms and technologies, including generative models and LLMs.
