Software Engineer III Position at JPMorgan Chase's AI Technology Team
Step into the role of a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Chief Technology Office AI Technology Team, based in Bournemouth, UK. As a seasoned member of our agile team, you will design and deliver market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your work will support the firm's business objectives by implementing critical technology solutions across various technical areas and business functions.
This role will involve building products covering , ModelOps, ML data development (e.g., data processing, data annotation), and Governance for firm-wide ML practitioners. Utilizing cloud technologies and microservices architecture patterns, you will develop these new products as a full stack developer.
You'll work alongside system architects, contributing across the technology stack from databases to native apps.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with innovative approaches.
- Create secure and high-quality production code, maintaining synchronous algorithms with appropriate systems.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement.
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using insights to drive improvements.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore new and emerging technologies.
- Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
- Create rapid prototypes and full-scale applications through collaborative and iterative design and development, meeting business goals.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields; proficiency in mathematics and statistics is a plus.
- Experience in modern architecture patterns (e.g., microservices, reactive architectures, event-driven architectures).
- Programming experience in Python or other languages/frameworks (Java, Kotlin, Go, JavaScript, React, Node.js, etc.).
- Experience with HTML/CSS and at least one modern JavaScript framework (React.js, Vue.js, Hapi.js, Ember.js, Angular.js).
- Experience with RESTful API services and performance tuning large-scale applications.
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, etc.).
- Experience in engineering practices (code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, TDD, CI/CD, application security).
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps principles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all organizational levels.
- Passion for skill growth, tackling interesting work, and solving challenging problems.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
- Exposure to cloud technologies.
- Experience/knowledge in model governance and data governance is a plus.
