Role Overview

As a Fullstack Engineer on the Care Team, you will help improve patients' lives by transforming the pharmacy experience. The Care Team manages everything from prescription intake to fulfillment, alongside key healthcare and pharmaceutical integrations, focusing on:

  • Preparing prescriptions for timely and accurate fulfillment, utilizing automation and efficient manual task coordination.
  • Facilitating business growth by enabling partners like drug manufacturers, insurers, and providers to easily configure benefits and clinical workflows.

Example Projects

  • Increasing intake automation with LLMs to parse unstructured prescription data.
  • Enhancing pharmacist workflows by incorporating controlled substance dispensing history and risk scores into clinical safety reviews.
  • Optimizing drug selection to find the best prices for patients.

A Bit About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Expertise in architecting complex systems for long-term maintainability, performance, and scalability.
  • Commitment to technical best practices such as code style, documentation, code review, bug fixing, and production issue mitigation.
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Alto's tech stack: Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, React, React Native.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with a growth mindset.
  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, focused on impact.

Additional Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and follow simple oral and written instructions in English.
  • Close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and extensive reading.
  • Effective oral communication skills at normal speaking levels.
  • Frequent repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers for computer operation.
  • Sedentary work with occasional walking and standing; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $144,000 - $180,000
  • Commission Eligible: No
  • Equity Eligible: Yes
  • Travel: Yes, up to 15% of the time
  • Location Requirement: Employment restricted to CA, CT, CO, FL, NV, IL, NY, KS, TX, MD, WA, MO, NJ, NC, OR, PA, SC, TN, WI
