Fundamental AI Research Scientist Opportunity at Meta

Meta is actively seeking a dedicated Research Scientist to enhance its Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team. This position is pivotal for advancing global AI technology and contributing to a range of disciplines within the field.

About the Position

As a Meta FAIR team member, the Research Scientist will:

• Lead pioneering research to push forward the understanding and capabilities of intelligent machines.
• Develop methodologies that comprehend the semantics across diverse data forms, including images, videos, text, and audio.
• Set and achieve short-term objectives while steering towards visionary, long-term goals.
• Publish impactful research findings and engage with the scientific community.
• Contribute to open source projects with high-quality code and replicable results.

Who Should Apply?

Candidates will ideally possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a PhD preferred.
• Proven research experience in AI, machine learning, computational statistics, or a similar area.
• Demonstrable experience in programming, particularly in Python.
• Capability to handle complex datasets from varied sources.
• Authorization to work in the hiring location at the time of hire along with maintained authorization throughout employment.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Significant research and engineering contributions demonstrated through publications, presentations, or coding.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience in managing trade-offs and considering various viewpoints.
• Experience working collaboratively on research teams and communicating technical concepts to a non-specialist audience.

Salary and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range from US$143,000 to US$208,000 per year, plus bonuses, equity, and additional benefits. Specific compensation packages are tailored based on experience, qualifications, and location.
