Target Salary Range: $145,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year

Actual starting pay will differ based on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%

Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%

These target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based on the achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Role

As the First Vice President of Data Engineering, you will manage key data implementations throughout the organization while providing exceptional people and technology leadership. Your responsibilities will include data architecture analysis, design, development, and testing, focusing on delivering data applications, services, interfaces, ETL processes, reporting, and other workflow and management initiatives. This role requires a self-driven individual with strong leadership abilities, technical prowess, and exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Location: This position is based onsite at our headquarters in San Diego, CA. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and maintenance of enterprise-scale, mission-critical data platforms
• Establish and execute a roadmap and vision for enterprise-scale data engineering
• Collaborate with multiple teams to understand overall enterprise Data Architecture and develop end-to-end data solutions
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet predetermined success criteria
• Design and develop highly scalable, efficient, and reliable data infrastructure
• Lead, coach, and develop the team with a vision to leverage data for increasing revenue and performance
• Drive IT solutions that align with business needs and offer a pragmatic and integrated approach
• Stay updated on key technology, business, and industry trends
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
• 7+ years of data management and strategy experience with data warehouses
• 7+ years of experience working with SQL Server and other database management systems in Cloud and On-Prem ecosystems
• Advanced experience with ETL technologies, Python, SQL, SSIS, FiveTran, Tableau, and Data Cloud platforms
• Experience leading technical teams
• Strong experience with various Data Integration tools, Databases, Big Data Platforms, Cloud-based data platforms, and Data Streaming technologies
• Expertise in Data Architecture and a deep understanding of enterprise data in the context of business goals
• Proficiency in building modern next-generation data warehouse platforms from the ground up
• Strategic planning and strong business acumen
