About the Role

The Client Onboarding Engineering team at Goldman Sachs is pivotal to our operations, requiring strategic, innovative, and real-time solutions. Utilizing both open-source and proprietary technologies, we develop strategic platforms to streamline the onboarding process through proactive management and document/data digitization using NLP techniques. This role involves partnering with our R&D team to employ machine learning methodologies, pushing the boundaries towards full workflow automation.

As part of this role, you will engage with various global stakeholders, including Compliance, Business, Client Implementation, Quality Assurance, and Firmwide Ref Data Engineering, focusing on efficiency, control, and exceptional client service. We're looking for engineers dedicated to driving technological innovation and achieving our ambitious goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • 1+ years of software development experience with a proven track record of delivering quality code in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to address challenges without textbook solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Experience with unit tests, integration tests, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Capacity to work both independently and within a team, adapting to various technologies.
  • Commitment to quality, operational excellence, and user experience.
  • Participate in designing, developing, testing, and documenting our Client Onboarding Platform.
  • Ensure the platform evolves to meet business, client, regulatory, operational, and technical needs.
  • Engage in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from requirement definition to deployment and production resilience.
  • Collaborate closely with business operations users and other developers worldwide.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional development experience.
  • Strong core Java (JDK 8 and above) development experience with a solid understanding of Java concepts and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design and implementation skills.
  • Experienced with technologies: Java, Spring, Web Services, RESTful APIs, Python, and React.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases such as Db2 and Sybase.
  • Front-end design skills with a focus on user experience.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills; must be a self-starter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in microservices architecture.
  • Background in machine learning & NLP.
  • Experience with Kubernetes deployment architectures.
  • Experience in distributed systems (Kafka).
  • Familiarity with agile software development and SDLC practices.
