Head of Data Engineering - Remote

Aryng is in search of a Head of Data Engineering, who has experience in creating enterprise-level distributed data engineering solutions in the cloud. We are looking for a tech-savvy and innovative Data Engineer who excels at implementing wide-scale, high-efficiency data platforms, batch, and real-time pipelines and tools for Aryng clients. This role is located in India. You will collaborate closely with a team of highly skilled data scientists, business analysts, and engineers to develop efficient solutions for our customers. Your greatest strength is creative and efficient problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a team of data engineers, including hiring, training, and mentoring
• Must have executed asynchronous data ingestion, high-volume stream data processing, and real-time data analytics employing various data engineering techniques
• Deploying application components using Cloud technologies and infrastructure
• Collaborating with the client and support team to address user-reported issues, providing expert guidance and resolving complex data engineering challenges
• Assisting in shaping the data pipelines and identifying bottlenecks to facilitate the adoption of data management methods
• Deploying cutting-edge cloud platform solutions using the latest tools and platforms offered by GCP, AWS, and Azure

Functional capabilities: Requirement gathering, Client Management, team handling, Program delivery, Project Management (Project Estimation, Project Scope, Agile methodology).

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of data engineering experience
• A minimum of 5 years of managing and implementing data engineering solutions using GCP/AWS/Azure Cloud solutions or on-premise distributed servers
• 3 years of managing a substantial team
• At least 4 years of experience in Python
• Strong knowledge of SQL and its concepts
• Experience with Big Query, Snowflake, Redshift, DBT
• Deep understanding of data warehousing, data lake, and cloud concepts
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, highly proactive, and self-motivated
• A consulting background is highly desirable
• A B.S. degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field of study is required
• Experience in some of the following: Apache Beam, Hadoop, Airflow, Kafka, Spark
• Experience in Tableau, Looker, or other BI tools is preferred
