About the Role

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in our team, focusing on delivering intelligent solutions directly to our customers. Ideal candidates are curious, collaborative, and passionate about new technology. Your ability to think effectively, coupled with a commercially savvy mind, positions you perfectly for addressing challenges within the fintech arena. Engage with different product tribes and squads, depending on your strengths and preferences, with opportunities to transition amongst them based on project demands.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Architect and Implement Solutions: Design and develop cost-effective, secure distributed architectures utilizing major GCP and AWS services.
• Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data engineers responsible for designing and implementing data platforms and infrastructure across multiple cloud environments.
• Data Pipeline Maintenance: Develop, monitor, and optimize data pipelines ensuring efficiency, data integrity, and compliance with security standards.
• Data Governance: Establish and manage a comprehensive data catalog to maintain structured datasets for platform-wide utilization.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Proficient in programming languages like Python, Java, R, Scala, and experienced in big data tools such as Apache Spark and Hadoop.
• Cloud Proficiency: Deep knowledge of cloud services and architecture (GCP, AWS) with a track record of implementing scalable solutions.
• Data Management: Experienced with various data storage options and database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery).
• Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities to guide and inspire a team, driving projects to successful completion while ensuring collaboration and effective communication across teams.
• Adaptability: Comfortably navigates through ambiguous situations, with a keen ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
• Long-term Vision: Focuses on long-term technology choices that align with strategic goals.
