Role Summary & Role Description

The Chief Data Office (CDO) - Global Technology Solutions at State Street is responsible for delivering and governing data architecture and technology programs across the firm. The CDO is launching multiple initiatives and operational model transformations to generate value for our internal and external clients. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic data technology leader to spearhead the growth charter for our CDO organization.

Responsibilities as Head of Data Technology and Analytics Solutions

In this role, you will:

• Provide leadership for delivering data technology solutions and programs, including Cloud Data Engineering, Migration and Modernization, Reference and Market Data Management, Data Science, and GenAI.
• Strategically partner with various business units to design and implement scalable data solutions that deliver value for our clients.
• Collaborate with IT functions like Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Network Infrastructure, and Platforms to deliver cohesive and efficient solution delivery roadmaps.
• Create and manage delivery roadmaps, risks, and dependencies, track progress, and remove hurdles to achieve OKRs and milestones. Communicate effectively and provide updates and thought leadership to CDO leadership worldwide.
• Focus on talent management and retention while coaching, mentoring, and guiding team members, including third-party resources and consultants, to create an engaged and growth-oriented team.

Core/Must-Have Skills

• Proven experience in delivering solutions on Cloud Data Technologies (AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.), Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Cloudera, etc.), Data Fabric, Data Mesh, and Data Virtualization (Starburst, Presto, etc.).
• Expertise in leading and delivering data technology solutions using agile methodologies in global operating environments.
• Clear understanding of dependencies and support requirements from various IT functions.
• Exemplary communication and articulation skills, coupled with proven Stakeholder Management and strong executive presence.
• Fair understanding of the Finance and Investment Management Industry, including regulatory and compliance requirements related to data management and operations.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to Data Science and GenAI use cases will be a plus.
