As a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Lead, you will develop globally scalable solutions essential for Sanofi’s Digital R&D Data products. Your role will empower AI and ML initiatives, adding value across the R&D Value Chain. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting business research via surveys, workshops, and user interviews to identify new opportunities.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to design tailored HPC solutions.
• Leading and mentoring junior HPC engineers.
• Architecting, deploying, and managing HPC clusters in *Nix/Linux environments and AWS Cloud.
• Ensuring efficient workload distribution using job schedulers.
• Optimizing server performance and resource utilization.
• Breaking down user stories into tasks, estimating story points, and maintaining updates in Jira.
• Developing and maintaining scripts for task automation.
• Integrating and optimizing scientific applications within the HPC environment.
• Utilizing DevOps tools and version control systems for collaborative development.
• Writing documentation and following QA validation processes.
• Supporting QA during SIT/UAT phases and managing project risks and decisions.
• Contributing to the entire application lifecycle, ensuring software quality and security.
• Conducting peer reviews for production-level solutions.
• Actively engaging in the Digital HPC community and defining best practices.
• Staying up-to-date with company standards, industry practices, and emerging technologies.

About You

Key Functional Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience working with cross-functional teams to solve complex computing problems.
• Ability to quickly learn new data and computing technologies.
• Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas to peers and leaders.
• Pragmatic approach to solving complex issues with attention to detail.
• Team player with a flexible, service-oriented attitude.
• Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Experience with pharmaceutical/healthcare industry processes is advantageous.

Key Technical Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in architecting, deploying, and managing HPC clusters.
• Familiarity with job schedulers (e.g., Sun Grid Engine, SLURM).
• AWS Cloud certification is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, R, and Bash.
• Strong understanding of scientific applications management and optimization.
• Experience with DevOps tools and version control systems (e.g., Git/GitHub).
• Solid grasp of network fundamentals and storage protocols.
• Optional: Familiarity with NGS processing and analysis for genomics research.
• Optional: Knowledge of ML/AI management tools and programming languages such as Java or C++.
