Role Overview

Position: Carbon Project Success Lead
Location: Fully Remote (North America Required)

Pachama is seeking a Project Success Lead to oversee the implementation of our carbon projects across Mexico and the US. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Origination Operations team, managing project planning, execution, and monitoring. This role involves building robust strategies for project success, fostering relationships with project partners, enhancing our standards and procedures, and ensuring high quality in all our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with local implementation partners and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on strategies and plans for forest restoration activities.
  • Oversee stakeholder engagement and social and ecological monitoring.
  • Coordinate timelines and tasks with internal and external teams for carbon project development.
  • Engage in field data collection, landowner interactions, tree planting, and other project activities.
  • Provide feedback on the development of Project Design Documents (PDDs) and adaptive management plans.
  • Conduct site visits and manage partner progress reporting.
  • Ensure project data alignment with registry and methodology standards.
  • Support project validation, verification, and registration activities.
  • Share information to bring projects to life and maintain transparency for customers, investors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience in environmental science or related fields.
  • On-the-ground experience in developing or overseeing forest carbon projects, preferably under Verra.
  • Exceptional project management skills – task definition, progress tracking, timeline management, and ensuring accountability.
  • Successful track record in engaging diverse external partners and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving team environment.
  • Resourcefulness, curiosity, and a passion for learning.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
