About the Team

At CookUnity, the Brand Marketing team is responsible for developing and executing world-class marketing activations and experiences that drive brand awareness and earn loyalty beyond reason. This team sets the vision and strategy for the brand and brings it to life with strategic rigor, creative excellence, and cultural relevance. Through insight-inspired, data-informed brand storytelling and experiences, CookUnity’s Brand Marketing team will build a category-defining brand loved by an entire generation of foodies.

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious, multifaceted storyteller to help craft our narrative and tell compelling stories about great food and the incredible chefs who make it a reality. This expert storyteller will be our most senior writer and will be responsible for establishing the voice and tone of CookUnity across all channels and in a variety of formats. What makes this role unique from other senior copywriting roles is we are looking for a unique profile that sits at the nexus of storytelling and technology. We believe that generative AI is a powerful tool that will continue to shape how we work and this is one area where we can stay at the forefront and embrace this emerging technology to help scale our impact. The ideal candidate will have some experience working with generative AI, be motivated to experiment and push the boundaries of what is possible, and leverage AI to help deliver stories that shape who we are, what we stand for, and our unique vision for the future.

You will partner closely with internal stakeholders in product, portfolio, design, and chef success to elevate our voice and messaging, ensuring it is clear, compelling, and uniquely our own. Across our website, UX, emails, physical packaging, social media, brand content, and thought leadership you will strike the appropriate balance of functional clarity and emotional inspiration, ensuring each touchpoint is additive to the next and working together to deliver a singular, category-defining narrative. You will report to the VP of Brand Marketing and work closely with influential leaders throughout the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CookUnity’s foundational brand voice and style guidelines
  • Create messaging guidelines that provide actionable direction on communicating throughout the marketing funnel and key customer touch points
  • Maintain a deep understanding of CookUnity’s audience and customers to ensure all copy is highly relevant and resonant with the people who matter most
  • Concept, write, review, and edit copy across mediums, including web pages, landing pages, in-app, emails, ads, branded content, social media, product packaging, marketing collateral, and scripts for use in content productions
  • Partner closely with Brand Marketing and UX Research to translate insights into compelling propositions, messages, and content concepts
  • Partner closely with Design (Brand and UX) to utilize copy as a powerful tool in visual communication across digital and analog touch points
  • Actively champion and reinforce the adoption of concepts and key messages that are central to our brand and narrative, acting as a driving force that continually pushes us forward

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a writer at a consumer brand, creative agency, or relevant media
  • A diverse writing portfolio demonstrating creative breadth across channels, mediums, and formats
  • A track record of delivering inspiring, well-crafted work that creates a strong human connection with consumers
  • Ability to develop one overarching narrative and then meticulously tailor elements of that narrative to specific channels and audiences with craft and creativity
  • Experience using generative AI to scale copywriting efforts – including writing effective prompts, training models to align with brand voice, and editing AI generated copy
