We are looking for a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join Djeholdings. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing our cloud architecture while managing our development and analytics tools. If you have experience with cloud-based architecture for large-scale data initiatives, data science, and software development teams, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate them into scalable and resilient cloud architectures.
• Work closely with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Software Development teams to design cloud solutions for our products.
• Implement and document optimized and secure cloud-based/cloud-native architectures.
• Provide cloud and platform engineering expertise to the Product Data team, aligning with strategic company goals.
• Contribute to selecting and integrating cloud-based vendors, tools, and frameworks.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in cloud engineering and introduce beneficial technologies or practices.
• Implement security measures, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance controls.
• Conduct regular security assessments and promptly address vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Implement performance tuning strategies to enhance system efficiency.
• Continuously improve and innovate cloud and platform engineering processes.
• Manage the provisioning of cloud resources based on project requirements.
• Maintain and support cloud-based and cloud-native architecture, including access controls, security, and networking.
• Configure and fine-tune cloud infrastructure components for optimal performance.
• Perform audits and assessments of cloud environments to ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
• Lead the deployment of applications onto the cloud platform, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Manage and monitor cloud applications to maintain performance, availability, and scalability.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role.
• Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cloud architectures.
• Database management expertise with Postgres, Snowflake, and Lucene-based search engines (Apache Solr, AWS OpenSearch, Elasticsearch).
• Proficiency with cloud-native tooling such as Amazon S3, AWS EMR, Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon ECS, Amazon ECR, Amazon VPC, and Amazon IAM (alternatives from other cloud providers are acceptable).
• Experience with cloud-based application tooling, including Databricks administration.
• Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Cloud certifications from providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka and AWS Kinesis.
• Experience productionizing machine learning-based cloud solutions.
