Role Overview

As a valuable member of the KAYAK/OpenTable legal team, you will draft, negotiate, and review commercial, procurement/vendor, and real estate contracts. This role involves working with international business team members, advising on commercial, real estate, and regulatory issues, and championing the use of AI tools in the legal department.

Your Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements including client/partnership, licensing, real estate leases, vendor agreements, and more.
• Provide timely legal advice, assess risks, and propose strategic solutions.
• Adopt and advocate for AI tools to enhance legal department efficiencies.
• Lead internal AI usage processes and educate the team on AI developments.
• Research and advise on unique legal issues affecting the company.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in product and feature initiatives.
• Offer legal counsel on various emerging topics.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to a State Bar.
• 4-5 years of experience in reviewing complex contracts, preferably in a tech company.
• Proven relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders.
• Egoless team player with a sense of humor and strong communication skills.
• Passion for AI and its integration into legal departments.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
• Exceptional judgment, integrity, and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Willingness to take on new or unfamiliar legal tasks.

Compensation

The salary range for this U.S.-based role is $140,000 - $185,000, depending on factors like market data, location, and experience. Additional compensation includes annual cash bonuses, health benefits, retirement benefits, and paid time off.
