Team’s Mission and Work Responsibilities

Mercari is at the forefront of e-commerce technology, continuously evolving and innovating. We are seeking a Director of Engineering for our Product Engineering Organization. This role involves leading the development and execution of our technical roadmap, specifically focusing on Search, Recommendation, and Search Platform domains.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading a diverse team of approximately 50 engineers and managers
• Driving technical strategy in alignment with product goals
• Overseeing machine learning initiatives
• Collaborating with various departments to integrate machine learning solutions
• Recruiting and training new team members
• Reporting on project outcomes and metrics
• Promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation

Required Qualifications

• Exceptional leadership skills with a history of driving high performance
