About the Role: Director of UX Design

We are looking for a seasoned, visionary Director of UX Design to lead the Firefox Mobile and Ecosystems team. This role will shape the user experience for our mobile browsers on iOS and Android, as well as our ecosystem products, including Pocket. The ideal candidate should have a rich background in mobile UX design, solid principles of user-centered design, and strong leadership skills to guide an exceptional UX team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee UX design strategy and implementation for Firefox mobile browsers on iOS and Android.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing.
  • Mentor and manage a team of UX designers, fostering innovation and collaboration.
  • Utilize user research, analytics, and feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Advocate for user needs throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and UX best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in UX Design, HCI, Psychology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of UX design experience, with at least 5 in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in designing consumer mobile apps for iOS and Android.
  • Comprehensive portfolio demonstrating user-centered design expertise.
  • Experience with privacy and security-focused UX designs is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinker with meticulous execution abilities.
