Job Description

Prevalent IOT Inc. is actively seeking a skilled GCP DevOps Expert with extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes (K8s) environments. This role involves designing and transitioning our current Docker Compose-based solution to a robust GCP GKE architecture.

Project Overview

Our system is currently based on Docker Compose with various standard services such as MongoDB and Redis, alongside custom-designed services. The custom services, along with Docker files for image compilation, are available in our GitLab repository.

Contract Details

• This is a one-time contract focusing on transitioning from Docker Compose to GKE with a fixed price and implementation period.
• Post successful GKE implementation, opportunities include:
  • Becoming the GKE cluster administrator for a fixed monthly fee, requiring 24/7 availability.
  • Becoming a permanent member of the DevOps team.

Requirements

1. Transition Docker Compose solution to GKE.
2. Maintain K8s, Terraform, and other GKE-related files in GitLab and set up the pipeline to GCP.
3. Participate in load tests.
4. Set up required records for GKE (mail service, wiki, etc.).
5. Manage the transition from the old domain (Docker Compose) to the new system (GKE), including databases migration and routing setup.

Specific Tasks for Regular Services

• Set up required resources in GCP
• Implement autoscaling

Specific Tasks for Custom Designed Services

• Implement CI/CD pipeline from GitLab to GKE
• Set up autoscale based on horizontal resources consumption
