Job Summary:

Natera is seeking a dynamic Senior/Lead Bioinformatics Scientist to enhance our Bioinformatics Research Team, focusing on early cancer detection. Our mission is to revolutionize disease management worldwide by leveraging blood-based information for proactive treatment decisions.

The ideal candidate should excel in algorithm development, epigenetics, sequencing data processing, and machine learning. You will innovate novel algorithms to analyze extensive genomic datasets and facilitate early cancer detection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize, develop, and validate cutting-edge algorithms and statistical methods to interpret large-scale data sets in cancer biology and genomics.
• Collaborate with molecular biologists and clinical scientists on innovative research strategies to tackle complex problems in oncology and address specific biological queries.
• Play a pivotal role in experimental design and quality control processes.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, with 5-10 years of post-PhD experience.
• Proven expertise in developing sophisticated algorithms and machine learning methods.
• Experience in analyzing sequencing data from cell-free DNA assays.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience with Linux command-line tools and shell scripting.
• Excellent ability to visualize findings and present results concisely in both oral and written formats.
• Commitment to scientific rigor and a passion for learning and teaching new computational techniques and biological concepts.
