Role Overview

As a Legal Counsel at Jimdo, you’ll navigate the legal landscape in a dynamic tech environment. Partnering with the business, you'll help launch powerful, safe, and trustworthy products. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you'll shape the legal framework that supports Jimdo's innovative products and services, easing the compliance load of our customers. What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with all departments to align product launches with legal requirements and customer needs.
• Provide guidance on legal issues impacting Jimdo, including the AI Act, Data Act, and CSRD.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including international SaaS agreements and partnership contracts.
• Conduct data protection assessments and advise on compliance with data privacy laws.
• Implement changes in processes and procedures to anticipate regulatory and business developments.
• Create and update training and guidance materials on current and emerging legal issues for team members and stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with basic business acumen.

Formalities:

• Bachelor of Laws or 1st State Examination (Staatsexamen); LL.M. in IT/Information Law, Contract Law, or Data Law is a plus.
• 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, including 2 years in a tech environment.
• Strong understanding of German law with business fluency in English and German.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, and ChatGPT.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with JURO (or another CLM), Asana, Adobe Pro, Adobe Sign, Canva, Miro, Fides, BeckOnline.
• Good understanding of a SaaS B2B business model and terminology.
• First experience with the Legal Design approach.
• Enthusiastic about AI tools and their application to Jimdo products.
• Knowledgeable about the legal and ethical implications of AI, especially in large language models and machine learning systems.
