About Sportradar:

Sportradar is at the forefront of sports data collection, developing a cloud-native, low-latency computer vision inference pipeline. We seek an experienced Platform Engineer to join our Production Automation team in Europe, supporting our computer vision advancements. This role will be integral as we incorporate computer vision as a core technology, transforming sports data collection and offering immersive experiences to fans while delivering richer insights to teams and leagues.

About the Team:

Join a highly experienced Production Automation Team as a Senior Platform Engineer/Senior Linux Systems Administrator. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, promoting a strong culture of collaboration and efficient system development lifecycles. Leveraging AI and patented algorithms, you'll help develop high-quality digital solutions, enhance operational awareness, support configuration management, and ensure quality in our automated sports capture systems.

The Challenge:

To excel in this role, you must be pragmatic, solution-oriented, and passionate about system engineering. Extensive experience with hybrid-cloud solutions and a deep understanding of software quality, reliability, release, and scaling principles are essential. Your strategic thinking and effective teamwork will drive innovation and maintain platform stability and reliability.

The key challenges include:

• Defining and implementing best practices for a global distributed server architecture
• Optimizing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux systems globally
• Improving software deployment methods
• Creating seamless Linux upgrade processes
• Securing the platform against external threats and internal vulnerabilities through regular security audits and best practices
• Managing cloud resources and infrastructure components to optimize costs without compromising performance or reliability

Your Profile:

• Extensive knowledge of GNU/Linux OS
• Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration
• Strong understanding of networking and hybrid cloud solutions (preferably AWS)
• Highly skilled in automation and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Excellent experience in creating operational awareness through monitoring and alerting solutions
• Proficiency with version control systems and application lifecycle management
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience in performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
