Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Level Database Administrator with a minimum of 5-6 years of experience. The ideal candidate must have advanced expertise in database design, development, security, backup, recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all database system operational processes are compliant with established service level agreements
- Administer database objects, including indexes, tables, views, constraints, and stored procedures
- Handle archiving, backup/recovery, replication, cloning, import/export, and refresh
- Manage database users
- Undertake capacity management and storage management
- Design, test, and optimize/tune RDBMS components
- Contribute to the design, maintenance, and documentation of integrated database security and compliance with SOX and SAS70 requirements
- Review and assess new features or upgrades of existing RDBMS components and application database changes
- Develop and optimize programming code for maintenance jobs and application reporting tools
- Develop shell scripts as needed
- Assess RDBMS differences and unique features for potential future database support
- Test new technologies and provide detailed reports on results
Education and Experience
- BS/BBA in MIS, CS, or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a DBA in a production and development environment
- Hands-on experience with:
- Amazon Redshift
- Spectrum
- PostgreSQL
- OLAP
- Preferred: Experience with healthcare-related databases and environments
