Role Summary

We are seeking a talented Staff Cyber Security Engineer with a focus on generative AI to join our NBCU Security Architecture team. This role involves partnering with various NBCUniversal business units, IT departments, and the Cyber Security organization to secure emerging technologies. The primary focus will be on safeguarding AI systems and other advanced technologies, addressing threats, and developing integrated security models.

As a security expert, you will collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure solutions, develop threat models, and create security guidelines. Communication skills are crucial for gaining support and ensuring adherence to security strategies.

Key Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in architecting secure products and maintaining security throughout their lifecycle.
• Expertise in addressing Network, Cloud, Web, and Application environment threats and designing relevant mitigations.
• Awareness of ML and generative AI security concerns and mitigations.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security best practices including OWASP Top 10 and CWE/SANS Top 25.
• Advanced technical skills in one or more security domains, with the ability to design complex systems and manage risks.
• Experience providing mentorship and constructive feedback within team settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A continuous learning mindset, quick adaptability, and expertise in new technology domains.
• Proven experience in developing and documenting security guidelines and best practices.
• Exceptional time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Desired Characteristics:

• Relevant experience prioritized over formal degrees.
• Experience in performing threat analysis using industry frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Familiarity with security control frameworks such as Cloud Security Matrix, NIST CSF, CIS Critical Security Controls.
• In-depth knowledge of generative AI platforms like Azure OpenAI services and models such as GPT-4, Llama, Midjourney.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations including PCI DSS, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA.
• Expertise in common Cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
• Proficiency in Cybersecurity Engineering/Operations, Incident Response, and GRC functions.
• Empathy for engineering teams and the ability to balance security policies with operational needs.
