The Role

We are seeking an experienced VP of Engineering to lead and build a world-class engineering team at Overstory. This role involves reducing wildfire risks and power outages globally using cutting-edge technology in remote sensing. Join us on this mission-driven journey where you can make a real difference.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing and diverse remote engineering team across multiple time zones.
• Oversee the development of Overstory’s technology, including customer analyses, software products, ML models, internal tools, and the platform.
• Develop and articulate a compelling 12-24 month technical strategy.
• Define and execute company-wide OKRs.
• Establish cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products daily.
• Foster an inclusive and productive work culture.
• Create strong lines of communication within the team and other business areas.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Proven experience as a people leader in technical teams through significant changes.
• Ability to inspire teams with a compelling vision and hands-on leadership.
• A strong network and bold recruitment practices to build a top talent pool.
• Experience with startup journeys from Seed stage through Series B and beyond.
• Background in machine learning-based products, with a bonus for geospatial or remote sensing experience.
• Experience managing remote and global teams.

About Our Team

Our team comprises 62 individuals from diverse backgrounds, living and working remotely across nine countries including the United States, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Estonia, Portugal, Spain, France, Sweden, and Canada. We gather once a year in person for team events and occasionally meet for in-person collaborations.
