Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field—or an equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a camera-focused technical environment, or at least 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or relevant field.
  • Proven experience developing image processing or computer vision algorithms.
  • Skills in imaging system design, camera module development, integration processes, or factory tests and calibration.
  • Capability in developing calibration solutions (hardware, software, integration) for imaging systems.
  • Strong understanding of statistics and ability to solve mechanical, hardware, or software issues.

About the Job:

Your role as a Hardware Engineer will involve designing and building the hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all Google services. This position not only allows you to work on system design from the conceptual stage but also through to high volume manufacturing, delivering systems designed for the global scale.

Compensation & Benefits:

The US base salary range for this full-time role is between $122,000 and $178,000, with the addition of potential bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Salary is influenced by location, and your recruiter will provide more specific information relevant to your preferred location during the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine calibration algorithms.
  • Innovate and improve hardware and factory processes.
  • Address and debug factory calibration issues.
  • Construct robust evaluation and reporting systems.
  • Analyze calibration impacts across factory settings, prototypes, software, and end-user experiences.
