About The Role

As part of Apple's dynamic Immersive Media content production tools team, the Imaging Systems QC Tools & Processes Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and deploying innovative capture technology. This opportunity will involve working on professional cinema, live broadcast, and expeditionary content production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting component validation tests on parts received from vendors.
• Improving and streamlining optical & image profiling processes and systems.
• Organizing cross-functional exchanges to promote knowledge transfer and innovation opportunities.
• Researching and prototyping new systems to support the team's broader product roadmap.
• Maintaining calibration and performance of multiple capture systems after repeated usage cycles.

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in developing metrology and image processing for MR, AR, or XR systems.
• Proficiency in imaging system profiling tools like Imatest, MATLAB, Image Engineering, Synopsis.
• Experience with optical and mechanical CAD systems such as Solidworks, Zemax, NX.
• Skilled in developing test automation systems using MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Education & Experience

B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent experience required.

Additional Requirements

Ideal candidates will also have experience with non-scientific image capture systems, familiarity with typical video/audio recording formats, basic electrical engineering or maker-style prototyping experience, and knowledge of video transport protocols and interfaces.

Pay & Benefits
