Experian is the world’s leading global information services company. We are passionate about unlocking the power of data to transform lives and create opportunities for consumers, businesses, and society. For over 125 years, we have helped economies and communities prosper, and we're not stopping.
Our outstanding 21k employees across 40+ countries believe that the possibilities for you and the world are continually expanding. We're investing in the future through new technologies, talented individuals, and innovation to help create a better tomorrow. We recruit the brightest minds who share our mission and wish to make a difference.
Being a Data Analyst is about possessing a curious mind. As a Placement Student at Experian, you'll learn the foundations of data analysis by providing batch fraud services to our clients, using programming skills to manipulate predefined SAS scripts to extract data. Over time, you will progress and use programming languages like SQL, SAS, and Python to extract, manipulate, and analyse data. You'll also derive insights and trends from this data! Daily, you could be contributing to data reports, MI, or even crafting a product proof-of-concept for future clients (a process where you sample data from a client and evaluate the potential benefits of a future product to them).
During this placement, communication skills are crucial as you'll collaborate with various individuals and may need to translate technical work for non-technical stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to demonstrate your creativity by understanding our processes and proposing improvements for the future. We encourage you to challenge our methods.
If you want to work with exciting data, apply your analytical skills to real-world situations, and help Experian unlock new opportunities for our clients and consumers, then this is the placement for you!
For the past 15 years, we've successfully trained Placement Students in Data Analytics, many of whom return to join us as Graduates after their studies. It's an exciting time, and we want you to be a part of it. If you choose to join us, you can expect industry training, broad career opportunities, and extensive support through our Early Careers Network, buddy system, line manager, and mentor scheme.
Our concept is simple. We believe in expanding horizons – this mindset is what makes Experian a global leader and one of the Top UK Tech Employers.
To apply for this opportunity, you must currently be studying an undergraduate degree and be able to undertake a year in industry placement from July 2024 to August 2025.

Typically, our Data Analyst Placement students are studying a Bachelor's degree course with substantial mathematical content, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research (O.R.), Economics, Physical Sciences, Engineering, etc.
Any knowledge of machine learning, computer programming, statistical techniques (e.g., SAS/SPSS, or R), or data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) is valuable but not a necessity for the role.
Being an analytical thinker, possessing good communication skills, and having a thirst for learning are also key qualities for success.
