YOUR ROLE

The position of Data Engineer Intern is an exclusive chance to consolidate knowledge about data and its application across the pharmaceutical industry and partake in an exhilarating journey building innovation for healthcare.

Responsibilities:

• Extract data from various sources and transform it into a format suitable for analysis and reporting
• Work with database systems like SQL, NoSQL, or big data technologies to design, implement, and sustain data storage solutions
• Build and sustain data models that optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for analytical purposes
• Develop and sustain data pipelines to assure a seamless flow of data from source to destination, which might involve tools like Apache NiFi, Apache Kafka, or cloud-based services like AWS Glue
• Maintain data quality and integrity by implementing data cleansing and validation processes

• Integrate data from various sources and formats to create a unified dataset for analysis
• Identify and resolve performance issues within data pipelines and databases
• Maintain clear and elaborate documentation of data engineering processes and systems
• Cooperate with data analysts, data scientists, and other team members to understand their data needs and supply them with the required data sets
• Assure data security and compliance with pertinent data protection regulations and company policies

Requirements

• You must be enrolled in a Masters of Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or another appropriate field*
• Competent in Python and SQL

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Demonstrated eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving data engineering practices
• Any corresponding projects, coursework, or internships related to data engineering or data management would be advantageous

*An internship at Mangabey lasts for 6 months. Consequently, you must be able to provide us with an Internship agreement from the university in which you are registered.
