Internship Opportunity in Improving Concepts Of Passive Safety Using AI

We, the BMW Group, are excited to offer an interesting and varied internship in the area of improving Concepts of Passive Safety Using AI. Our team, “Concepts Passive Safety, Frontal Protection, Restraint Systems,” is at the forefront of developing computational methods and finite element simulations to enhance vehicle crashworthiness by optimizing structural and restraint system components. This challenging internship comes with a variety of tasks that will support our engineers in their daily work.

What Awaits You?

• Working in a diverse team of engineers, developers, and students.
• Using finite element crash models to validate and optimize restraint systems.
• Processing simulation results using programming languages.
• Comparing simulation results with hardware test data.
• Utilizing artificial intelligence to approximate and accelerate results, enabling further analysis.

What Should You Bring Along?

• Enrollment in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Mechanics, Mathematics, or a comparable course of study.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis, such as experience with LS-Dyna or Abaqus FEA, is an advantage.
• Skills in artificial intelligence are preferred.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other programming languages.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
