About the Role

The energy transition presents a key challenge: ensuring a stable and efficient energy supply while increasing the share of wind and solar energy. Our Intraday Trading Team in Düsseldorf is at the forefront of this exciting development. Managing one of Europe's largest renewable energy portfolios on short-term markets, we enable the successful integration of wind and solar power into the energy market.

Your Responsibilities

Learning on the Job: Work on the pulse of short-term energy trading. You'll work independently while receiving support from intraday traders and analysts to elevate your fundamental knowledge of the European power markets.

Creativity and Innovation: Help develop models and algorithms based on machine learning, time series, and statistical data analysis. You'll also have the opportunity to implement your own trading ideas and witness their market success.

Contribute: From the start, you'll be instrumental in further developing and improving our performance forecasts for wind and solar energy, as well as other price and fundamental forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a university, ideally studying a quantitative or commercial discipline
  • Solid quantitative skills
  • Interest and some experience in programming, preferably in Python
  • Knowledge of version control techniques (Git) and/or data visualization techniques (Dash, HTML, JavaScript) is a plus
  • Proactive and independent working style
  • Passionate about the energy market and the energy transition
  • Very good English skills for optimal collaboration in an international team
